Drain Jetting in Northamptonshire

High-pressure water that clears the whole pipe — not just a path through it.

High-pressure drain jetting in progress at a property

Signs you need this service

  • Blockages that keep coming back — if clearing a drain only fixes it for a few weeks, there's likely a build-up on the pipe walls that a quick clear won't touch
  • Grease and fat build-up — common in kitchen drains, especially commercial kitchens, where fat solidifies and narrows the pipe over time
  • Slow drainage across multiple fixtures — often a sign of silt, scale, or general build-up rather than a single blockage
  • Tree root intrusion — roots working into older pipes through joints, especially common in external drains

What we do

We use specialist jetting equipment that pumps water at high pressure through a hose fitted with a precision nozzle. Unlike a drain rod, which can just punch a hole through a blockage and leave the rest of the build-up in place, jetting cleans the entire internal wall of the pipe — stripping away grease, scale, and residue as it goes, not just clearing a channel through the middle.

The pressure and nozzle are matched to your pipe's material and condition, so it's tough on the blockage without risking damage to the pipe itself. For tree roots, we use root-cutting nozzles that slice through the intrusion before flushing the debris clear. Most residential jobs are done within one to two hours; commercial jobs or longer pipe runs may take a little longer.

Because it cleans the full pipe rather than punching through, jetting gives you a longer-lasting result than a standard clearance — which is also why it's the standard preparation step if a pipe needs lining afterwards.

Is it actually your problem? We check before you pay.

If a problem turns out to be your local water authority's responsibility rather than a private repair, we tell you before any work goes ahead — and provide a written report you can use to pursue a claim.

Frequently asked questions

Is drain jetting safe for my pipes?
Yes, when carried out by trained engineers. We match the water pressure to your pipe's material and condition — modern equipment is powerful but precise, so it clears blockages without damaging the pipe.
How is jetting different from a standard drain clearance?
A standard clearance (rodding) punches a path through a blockage. Jetting cleans the entire pipe wall, removing the build-up that causes blockages to come back. It costs a little more upfront but tends to last much longer.
How often should drains be jetted?
Most homes don't need regular jetting unless there's a history of recurring blockages. Commercial kitchens with heavy grease output typically benefit from jetting every 6–12 months as routine maintenance.
Will jetting fix a collapsed or badly damaged pipe?
No — if we suspect a structural issue, we'll recommend a CCTV survey first. Jetting clears blockages and build-up; a damaged pipe needs repair or relining.
